North Myrtle Beach Amusements & Attractions

North Myrtle Beach fun doesn't end with the beach, golf, shopping, or eating.  Turn up the family thrill and fun by visiting our popular attractions.  You can’t possibly visit everything in one week’s time!  We’ve got amusement parks, water parks, beachside helicopter tours, reptile zoos, and hundreds of miniature golf courses.  Ask us what our favorites are and we’ll gladly share some entertaining stories with you.

The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk stretches just over a mile in length and features beach-side shops, restaurants and bars, and popular family attractions. Enjoy hot summertime fun along the promenade – full of street entertainers, live music, and fireworks!  See why this boardwalk was ranked third on National Geographic’s list of the Top Ten Boardwalks.  Ocean Boulevard has been completely revived because of this downtown addition. There is plenty to see and do for the whole family!
Located off the northern end of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is the new Myrtle Beach SkyWheel.  It is the only Ferris wheel of its kind in the United States and stands nearly 200 feet tall with impressive views of the beachfront, Atlantic Ocean, and inland towards Conway, South Carolina.  The 42 climate-controlled gondolas allow the ride to be open year round.

North Myrtle Beach Live Entertainment

Those who have been visiting for many years know that North Myrtle Beach features an endless amount of live entertainment.  Our year round theatre shows rival Broadway, and live bands play in nearly every local bar and restaurant.  North Myrtle Beach is even home to a House of Blues venue, where big name artists, such as Britney Spears, Hootie and the Blowfish, and B.B. King, have all come to perform sold out concerts.

Beach Music is particularly popular in North Myrtle Beach.  In fact, it began several years ago along Main Street and Ocean Drive.  Many of the bars and clubs in this area pay homage to Beach Music with nightly live bands and festivals, such as the seasonal S.O.S Migrations.  Schedule a trip to the beach during Fall or Spring to see what the hype is all about surrounding Beach Music.

Laying on the beach all day and need something to do to cool off?  North Myrtle Beach has a variety of water activities to keep you busy once you start burning.  Whether it be fast paced adventure on jet skies or parasailing, or the laid back mood of deep sea fishing and dolphin watching tours, there is something for everyone to do while out on the ocean or intracoastal waterway.

Surfing has been popular in North Myrtle Beach for decades. Not only are our waves great for beginners, but our water temperature heats up to over 80 degrees – which makes for an even more enjoyable experience. Grab a board and hit the waves with one of the many local surf schools on the Strand.  The Myrtle Beach Surf Camp is staffed with experienced instructors who have been teaching surfing to visitors for many years.
